Jumping into Milford Sound on the south island of New Zealand
“My name is Austin Barron and I like Flat Whites and real estate. I have always loved architecture and buildings, they inspire me, and excite me. Often people ask me what got me interested in real estate. I whole heartedly attribute my love for real estate, buying and selling it, investing in it, renting it, and now especially helping others do the aforementioned, to my great-grandmother Georgina Sanders. She would always tell me to ‘pick up a book’ and read. I was never really a book reader until I got into real estate. Now I try to read for 2 hours every day. Whether its real estate, business, business development, or the Securities Act of 1933, if it is relevant. You can bet that I've either read it, or am actively planning to read it. I believe that knowledge is important, and that it is the only thing short of experience. I plan to put all that knowledge into the development of my career, into the sale or purchase of your home, and into my everyday life.”

“Let me tell a story about the reason I got into real estate, my grandma. My grandma Georgina has owned property up and down the state of California almost all her life. However she didn't grow up rich, in fact quite the opposite. My grandma grew up in Santa Maria in 1923, she was taught the importance, nay, the necessity of hard work. Her first job was on a carrot farm, picking carrots for less than fifty cents an hour. On her second day on the farm, she cut her hand on one of the carts, and bled on some of the carrots. The farmer told her not to come back. It was harsh times back then. Her and her husband Dean Sanders, my great grandpa (may he rest in peace) has scrounged up enough money to buy a piece of land, and they managed to build a small home on that land themselves. They eventually sold that property for enough money to buy a piece not built by two kids with no experience in construction. That taught them the value of investing in land. The principles of appreciation, and the meaning of hard work. Over the years Dean and Georgina had gathered an estate of over 50 properties up and down the valley ranging from land, to homes, to ranches & farms.
She truly inspires my work in real estate. When I was young I thought she was just my crazy grandma telling me things, but now I see the value in her knowledge. I see the value in hard work, I see the value in diligence, and I see the value in honesty.
It is those three principles: Hard work. Diligence, and Honesty that I carry with me every day. Through every transaction I deal with, every book that I read, every client I meet, I carry these with me.
I grew up in Chico, in the Webb Homes neighborhood of Amber Grove. I've always loved this town and I hope to continue to see it grow and evolve year after year. I wouldn't change a thing about it if I could, because if I did then it wouldn’t be chico.”
